Hi! How are you today? Where are you from? I'm from Kumamoto in Japan. So, I want you to know about Kumamoto. Kumamoto has a lot of histories and traditions.
I’ll introduce about Kumamoto. In particular I want to introduce a traditional dialect and sightseeing spot.
First I’ll talk about dialects of Kumamoto. Kumamoto has a lot of traditional dialects. I had listened to it when I was child. Even if a person of other prefectures hears it, I may not surely understand. Do you understand this means of “~batten”? It means BUT in English. The Kumamoto citizen of the prefecture is words knowing by all means. Next, do you understand “nannsama”? It means ANYWAY in English. It is popular dialect, too. The words that a senior citizen speaks seem to be totally foreign words. However, we are very familiar for words of Kumamoto.
Next, I’ll talk about sightseeing spot of Kumamoto. It is Kumamoto castle which most popular sightseeing spots in Kumamoto. This year, It raised a castle for 400years. Many people visited there. So, they celebrated memory of construction of a castle 400 years. We can climb the castle tower of Kumamoto Castle, we can command a whole view of Kumamoto. I recommend you to go there. Kumamoto Castle is a castle in Kumamoto, Kumamoto Prefecture,Japan that has been opened to the public for tours. A large, and in its day, an extremely well fortified Japanese castle. The donjon (castle central keep) is a concrete reconstruction built in 1960, but several ancillary wooden buildings remain of the original castle. The castle was besieged during the Satsuma Rebellion, and was sacked and burned after a 53-day siege.
In nearby San-no-Maru Park is the Hosokawa Gyobu-tei, the former residence of Hosokawa clan, the Higo daimyo. This traditional wooden mansion has a fine Japanese garden located in its grounds.
The signature curved stone walls known as musha-gaeshi, as well as wooden overhangs were designed to prevent foes from penetrating the castle. Rock falls were also used as deterrents.
Mt. Aso is a world-famous sightseeing spot. So many tourists come every year from the various countries in the world. Mount Aso is the largest active volcano in Japan, and is among the largest in the world. It stands in Kumamoto Prefecture, on the island of Kyusyu. Its peak is 1592 m above sea level. Its caldera is 25 km across north to south and 18 km across east to west. The caldera has a circumference of around 120 km (75 miles), although sources vary on the exact distance. We are proud of Mt. Aso.
Next I will introduce about Kumamoto’s night view. I like going to see the night view. In Kumamoto, most popular spot is Mt.kinpou. We can see night view! I recommend you! Second is Mt. Hanaoka. There are places to see view. Many couple talking there.
Other Mt.tawara and Inorinooka kinen park. Kumamoto has a lot of to see night view.
Our hometown Kumamoto has a lot of special things. People live in Kumamoto are having many histories. We want to value culture of Kumamoto. And I want children born in the future to inherit tradition.
